Ewan McRae

Ewan is stubborn and a bit impetuous, with a habit of making risky decisions, which led him to being soul-bound to Ōdachi, and now to having his soul removed so he can live forever with Kumiko. Extremely dedicated to the art of summoning, Ewan's skill can now be considered masterful.

Rosalee Siverly
Year: 3
Nationality: Ireland
Powers: ESPer
Cheerful, outgoing, and strikingly beautiful, Rosalee has a host of powerful psychic abilities and a photographic memory. Best friends with Ewan since elementary school, she has stuck by him even as he has made some ill-advised choices. While powerful and smart, she seems to have a habit of losing when it comes to love.

Ingo Sinnex
Year: 2
Nationality: Sweden
Powers: Cambion
Ingo was a Cambion, Ewan's roommate and Rosalee's boyfriend. Smart but shy, he struggled with self-esteem and guilt over his mistakes, but eventually died at the hands of Mammon in a ritual to corrupt the Ark of the Covenant.

Odachi
Demon Type: Kamaitachi
Rank: Demon Lord
Itachibanchu Ōdachi is the lord and master of all kamaitachi, the demonic "sickle weasel" wind spirits of Japanese legend. Powerful in both ability and personality, he rules over his own little region of the Demon World and is served by countless legions of lesser kamaitachi. A mighty combatant with wind-based attacks, Ōdachi, like the rest of his kind, is also an accomplished healer.

Kumiko
Demon Type: Kumiho
Kumiko is a nine-tailed fox demon known as a kumiho. Originally summoned by Ewan to face a demon summoned by Jake, she requested in payment only the chance to spend time with Ewan and ease her loneliness. Ewan has fallen for her, despite everyone telling him agreeing to her request is a dangerous mistake. However, she has so far been supportive and kind.

Carlita Mendez
Year: 2
Nationality: Bolivia
Powers: Spirit Hunter
Carlita is a young Spirit Hunter in training, first met by Ewan and Rosalee while on her training pilgrimage in the Demon World. Her Spirit Form resembles a traditional Spanish matador, and she wields a bullfighting saber. She is loyal to the Spirit Hunter Society, and strongly believes in its ideals. However, unlike other Spirit Hunters, she seems more tolerant of other powers, and is curious about life at Demongate High.

Daisy Jonson
Year: 2
Nationality: USA
Powers: Summoner
Daisy, actually Judy in disguise, is posing as an extremely talented and apparently experienced Summoner from the United States. She is outgoing and jubilant, to the point of annoyance, and seems happy to show off her skills. She has quickly latched on to Ewan and the others as her new social circle.

Juno Midori
Year: 1
Nationality: USA
Powers: Cambion/Shaman/True Martial Artist
Juno is a skilled but headstrong fighter, with a lecherous streak a mile long. Cheerful and friendly, she nonetheless has a bad habit of breaking the rules and is developing quite the bad reputation among the rest of the girls at school. She manages to get away with her behavior thanks to her father being a major donor to the Foundation. After hearing about the group's adventures from Daisy, she is making a concerted effort to be involved.

Kennochi
Demon Type: Kamaitachi
Kennochi is the fastest of the kamaitachi, and Odachi relies on him for tasks where speed is of the essence. He seems friendly and accommodating, though such qualities only increase Ewan's suspicions of him. He has been selected by Odachi to stand guard with the sword Tyrfing in the lair of Azhidahaka, until Ewan can come up with a more permanent means of keeping it safe. In this time, he seems to have manifested some strange new power.

Fenrir
The strongest creature in the known multiverse, Fenrir is an emormous, rage-fueled wolf rumored to be the catalyst for the end of the world. The only known ritual for summoning him is written in Demonscript near the gate to the Demon World, and bringing him to the Real World is the goal of the Children of Loki. Now that he has been summoned by Ewan and his friends, he seems to not be a danger to the world. But is that truly the case?

Volkanar
Demon Type: Dragon
Volkanar is a dragon working for the Demon World equivalent of a taxi service. He is friendly and forthcoming, with an honest interest in the human world. He claims to be too young to have ever personally seen the human world, but still may very well have a sizable treasure hoard somewhere in the Demon World.

Veghdarz
Demon Type: Se'ir
Veghdarz is an unusual se'ir, having the powers of an Alchemist and and Artificer. Cheerful yet professional, he runs a quite successful business in the Demon World, performing rituals and crafting talismans and the like for the right price. He was recently contracted by Kumiko to perform the Soul Transfer ritual on Ewan.

Aniel
Angel Type: Prince of Principalities
Aniel is the chief of the angelic order of Principalities, and the patron of ESPers and beauty. He has taken an interest in Rosalee, and has visited her several times in regard to her abilities and the recovery of Ingo's soul. Wise and powerful, he is nonetheless somewhat unaware of what it means to be human.

Judy Isis Anonso
Year: N/A
Nationality: Greece
Powers: Cambion/Summoner
Judy spent four years posing as a male student at Demongate High, Janos Dionysius, while working undercover for the Children of Loki. She despises the Foundation for their role in the deaths of her parents, but realized that the actions of the Children of Loki would be even worse, so she defected and was instrumental in bringing the organization down. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Jake Abrams
Year: N/A
Nationality: USA
Powers: Summoner
At one time a bully, Jake eventually became good friends with Ewan, and got wrapped up in many adventures. However, he became possessed by a powerful demon and Ryan sealed its power in him. At that point, Jake realized the dangers of the supernatural world had become too much for him, and he left Demongate High to pursue a "normal" life back in the US.

Tina Anderson
Year: 3
Nationality: USA
Powers: Seer
Tina was Rosalee's roommate during their first year, though she tends to keep to herself, outright ignoring Rosalee most of the time. She is withdrawn and introverted, but comes across as cold and aloof. She is from a prestigious family line of Seers with uniquely inherited eyes, enabling her to go above and beyond the powers of typical Seers. She finds Rosalee's perpetual exuberance irritating, and tries to stay out of her affairs.

Kazuo "Kaz" Ilyanovich
Year: 3
Nationality: Russia
Powers: Spirit Energist
Half Japanese and half Russian, Kazuo was raised by a family of militant Soviet sympathizers, and behaves in a rigid, military manner. A student of martial arts, Kaz believes a stand-up fight is the solution to any problem. He is rambunctious and outspoken, often getting into trouble without meaning to. He has a habit of jumping out of windows.

Zane Baker

Powers: Artificer
Zane is a good student, who pays careful attention in his classes. He is quiet most of the time, but thoughtful and intelligent. He seems well prepared for almost everything, and enjoys practicing archery. He is Kaz's roommate, and knows Ewan and Rosalee from other classes.

Lapsang

Nationality: Tibet
Powers: Holy Chosen
Though he wears prayer beads and a monk’s robes when not in uniform, Lapsang does not act like a stereotypical Holy Chosen. A bit of a troublemaker, be loosely follows Buddhist tenets, but seems to readily slip into very non-Buddhist behavior from time to time. Even the faculty aren't entirely certain why someone like him was chosen by the Heavens to wield its power, as such priviledge is usually reserved for the pious and dedicated, and he has a very nonchalant attitude toward his powers and just about everything else.

Annalisse Siverly

Powers: Summoner
Rosalee's little sister is 4 years younger than she is. She is very talkative, and even more bubbly and outgoing than Rosalee. Her "imaginary" friend is a cheerful imp named Georgie, and she has an unusual talent for summoning. Since her powers came to light, she has been receiving advanced tutoring in summoning from the Foundation.

Annalisse's "imaginary" friend, Georgie seems unusually innocent and friendly for a demon. He enjoys Annalisse's company, and has a particular fondness for ice cream. He tries to remain invisible so that no one but Annalisse ever sees him.

Katrina Sorensen

Powers: ESPer
Katrina is a talented ESPer who was sending Rosalee dreams for her first few months at Demongate High. During that time, Katrina was imprisoned by her father, Mikael, who intended to use her as a sacrifice in the summoning of Fenrir. Now safe from the Children of Loki, Katrina is learning to hone her ESPer powers, and enjoying life as a "normal" Demongate High student.

Ryan Eckhardt

Nationality: America
Powers: Cambion, Holy Chosen
Ryan is unusual: both a demonic Cambion, and a Holy Chosen. Appearing much like a dragon, he is only joining Demongate High as a sophomore, having spent much of his life sequestered in secrecy by his protective mother. He is kind and polite, and just wants to get an education and be left alone. However, something about his family name carries a lot of baggage, resulting in a lot of discrimination against him.

Grace Rosewell

Powers: Holy Chosen
Two years younger than Rosalee, Grace is a Holy Chosen just coming into her powers. Shy, nervous, talkative, and inexperienced in the supernatural world, she also happens to be the reincarnation of the ascended demon Birendra, who once aided the forces of the Heavenly Realms in quelling the forces of the Demon World that sought to corrupt humanity long ago. While she still doesn't entirely understand her connection to Birendra, or the extent of her powers, she nonetheless wants to be part of the supernatural world and use her abilities to help others.

Jorgen Sinnex
Nationality: Sweden
Powers: Cambion
Jorgen Sinnex, Ingo's father, is the head of the Sinnex Corporation, an active member and funder of the Demongate Foundation, and an accomplished amateur archaeologist. His demonic appearance is limited to goat-like eyes, and his powers seem subtle as well, giving him great persuasive powers.

Marcus Drake
Nationality: USA
Powers: Summoner
Marcus is a relatively young employee of the Foundation, working in its "Asset and Artifact Recovery Division." Somewhat overconfident, he feels a personal responsibility to oversee the safekeeping of any dangerous artifacts he discovers. Though talented and reliable, he has only been with the Foundation a couple of years.

Albert Flavinski

Powers: Alchemist
Young, shy, and lacking confidence, Albert is already a very talented Alchemist. While he hasn't cemented any friendships among the group, he has nevertheless earned their respeect.

Martin DeVilleu

Powers: Breath Stealer
Martin DeVille, one of the senior members of the Demongate Foundation, is very strict and by-the-book, taking his new role as principal very seriously. However, nearly everything about him is still something of a mystery.

Lucien DeLefeu
Principal/Headmaster
Nationality: France
Powers: Artificer
Lucien DeLefeu is the principal or headmaster of Demongate High. While he doesn't regularly teach, he has a strong teaching background, and is responsible for the overall studies and safety of the students and facilities. He creates and maintains the various wards and talismans protecting the school grounds. Due to his position alone, he isn't generally well-liked by the students, who often call him "Professor Gimpy" behind his back due to the cane he uses, thanks to an old battle injury that never properly healed.

Alex Stilling
Nationality: USA
Powers: Summoner
Professor Stilling is the primary Summoner teacher at Demongate High, and one with whom Ewan is building the most rapport. He is an accomplished Summoner, and also reportedly a member of several organizations outside the Foundation. He almost always wears a tan treanchcoat that he keeps stocked with various acoutrements necessary for summoning the wide range of demons whose rituals he knows.

Patrick "Foxtail" Heffernan
Nationality: Ireland
Powers: Cambion
Professor Foxtail is young and energetic, and very popular with the students. His powers are similar to those of his kumiho mother: he has nine fox tails, and can generate fire and shape-shift. He is good natured and enjoys his work, and regularly takes part in field trips. He is Rosalee's favorite teacher, in part because of their shared Irish heritage.

Mandara Darjiling
Nationality: India
Powers: Seer
Professor Darjiling is fairly young, but one of the most talented Seers the Foundation has ever seen. In addition to her duties as a teacher at Demongate High, she is an advisor to the principal (mostly in making sure students aren't lying when being interrogated), and also the Foundation's expert on prophecy and augury. She is generally helpful and understanding with students. It's rumored that she and Professor Foxtail are involved in a relationship.

Sister Mary Valentine
Nationality: Armenia
Powers: Holy Chosen, True Martial Artist
Sister Valentine, affectionately refered to by students as a "nunja," is a skilled holy warrior, and member of the Vatican's Crimson Inquisition. She is generally cheerful and friendly, and quite popular among the students, but has a stern side and takes her responsibilities very seriously.
